VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR NATIONALS

Softball WA are seeking volunteers to support the delivery of a National Championship event and the Under 14 Girls Regional Championships at Mirrabooka from 4 - 10 January 2020.

The Open Women's National Championships are in Western Australia for the third time, and the success of the tournament depends on the support of enthusiastic volunteers.

EVENT STRATEGY WORKSHOP

Parks & Leisure Australia (WA) are offering a practical workshop - "WA Events Strategy: Driving Success" - well suited to those that approve, manage, sponsor or bid for events in their area.

The session takes place on 3 December 2019 at Scarboro Surf Life Saving Club, facilitated by international presenter Mr Peter Stewart.

2020 BEACH FOOTBALL SET FOR SUMMER

Entries are now open for two five-a-side Beach Football tournaments in Perth during the summer, with Men's, Women's, Mixed and junior divisions on offer.

The first event kicks off at Bathers Beach in Fremantle on 11-12 January, to be followed by a second at Scarborough Beach on 1-2 February.

EQUESTRA 2019 EVENT

Celebrating the bond between horse & human in Western Australia, Equestra 2019 provides a platform for a variety of equestrian sports and recreational activities in a fun weekend celebrating the relationship between horse and human.

The event taking place at the State Equestrian Centre in Brigadoon on Saturday 7 December was a sellout last year, and they're going fast Equestra 2019.

BOOST IN SUPPORT FOR SENIORS RECREATION COUNCIL

WA's active ageing movement has been given a boost with an increase in State Government funding announced for the Seniors Recreation Council's Healthy Ageing Through Activity programs.

Minister for Sport & Recreation Mick Murray confirmed an extra $40,000 in funding for the Seniors Recreation Council of WA to extend its programs.

WATER POLO GM STANDS DOWN

The Board of Water Polo WA has regretfully accepted the resignation of General Manager Chris Beech, wishing him every success in the future.

The Water Polo WA Board will begin an immediate recruitment process to fill the role, with Deputy Chair Ms Caitlin Read to provide leadership support to the organisation with the support of the wider Board.
